This wild safari-inspired bedroom is filled with endless fun! My client had already purchased the adorable jungle wallpaper, so we leaned into a green, ivory and taupe colour story to make sure everything would work together effortlessly. To add some visual interest to the room, we decided to paint out the trim and doors in a beautiful greige (Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore). I love the contrast it brings to the white walls and how it plays off the linen drapery.
Though the room is fairly small, we maximized the layout and squeezed in a full sized Monte upholstered bed. These are one of my favourite bed frames for kids rooms as they can be customized with several different fabric options. The arched headboard is such a playful touch. You’ll see several intentional sage green accents throughout the room as well; from the nightstand and cotton sheet set to the boucle bean bag and crocodile art print! And to balance out all the green, we made sure to include natural wood tones and rattan details as well, with a functional bookcase and classic woven ceiling light. I was so excited to try out this sculptural wall light in lieu of a traditional table lamp, and love how it looks layered in front of the wallpaper. The final outcome is an imaginative and timeless room design this little guy can enjoy for years to come…
