Hello! I’m Rebecca.
From a very young age I’ve had a natural talent and passion for interior design. I grew up watching design shows on TV and would get a thrill from rearranging my bedroom furniture every few months. I then spent the greater part of a 10 year advertising career focused on the home furnishing industry and was in heaven being immersed in that world. Between bringing a nursery to life as a first time mom in 2015 and designing multiple children's rooms for close friends and family, I got a taste of a dream I just couldn’t kick.
Following the birth of my second child in 2017, I realized that my creativity was indeed best channeled by designing and styling spaces for little ones. It was time to fully dedicate myself to my dream and so came to life my interiors studio, Maison Ellie (representative of my French Canadian roots and inspired by my daughter’s middle name).
Over the last 6 years, I’ve been further developing my soft and natural aesthetic, layered with contrasting textures and my signature mix of patterns — stripes and florals, yes please!
My room designs are both approachable and driven on quality over quantity, while equally stylish and beautiful. Each space is packed with uniquely curated touches aimed to reflect your child's personality and equipped to grow with them for years to come.
In 2021, our family made the life-changing decision to move from Toronto and build our dream home on an acreage lot in Ottawa. We’re now all settled in and adoring the green space, serene views and slower pace of life. I still travel to Toronto and the GTA monthly for work, as client projects keep me very busy there.
