There’s something about a simple colour palette that’s just so pleasing to the eye. And because we were starting off with a bright purple room, it gave us the urge to really soften the feel of this space! With a dusty rose and warm wood palette, we created a solid foundation for the room. It gave me the opportunity to hone in on various textures and materials. We brought in a mix of rattan, bouclé, linen, muslin cotton, brass metals and warm wood tones; all carefully combined to create a calming toddler room.

My clients loved the idea of a wallpapered accent wall and we couldn't be happier with this soft pink ombre mural — it’s bright and feminine, and still feels super natural. We added a vintage-inspired rug, bouclé armchair, cane ceiling light and large wooden side table to layer in some texture. And if you know me well, you know that I love mixing patterns; here we paired checkered bed linens with a floral blanket and the combination is just beautiful.

We dedicated one entire side of the room for a reading and play zone using open storage cubbies to promote independent play and an extra comfy bean bag. A boho rainbow art print and pink ombre table lamp bring a playful touch to the room’s design! The existing closet nook wire shelving system was functioning so poorly, so we tore it out and installed a PAX wardrobe, which was trimmed out to give it a real custom feel. It provides so much more storage for clothes and bedding, neatly tucked away behind closed doors.

I love finding alternate uses for products in kid’s spaces, and when I saw this rattan plant stand I knew it would be the perfect addition under some book ledges to provide additional storage for dolls, soft toys and extra books. The end result is a warm, simple and oh so calming space! Be sure to check out my Reel on instagram to see the full start to finish transformation.
